Xiaomi Mi Reader Pro launched with 7.8 inch e-ink display, 24 levels of adjustable color tones

Xiaomi Mi Reader Pro was introduced in China as the successor to the Mi Reader from last year. It comes with an e-ink display which is ideal for reading as it doesn’t strain the eyes as much as normal phones or tablets. It has a 7.8-inch display with high pixel density and adjustable reading light as well as customizable color tones. It comes in a single RAM and memory configuration and a single color option. Mi Reader Pro also supports multiple file formats.

The price of Mi Reader Pro from Xiaomi is 1,099 CNY (about 12,400 Rs.) For the only 2GB + 32GB memory configuration. It comes in a single black color option and can be purchased through Xiaomi’s Youpin crowdfunding platform.

So far, the company has not disclosed any details on international availability.

Mi Reader Pro specifications, features

Mi Reader Pro runs on Android 8.1 and has a 7.8-inch display with a resolution of 1,878 x 1,404 pixels and a pixel density of 300 ppi. You can set the color temperature in 24 steps so that you can choose between a warm and a cool shade depending on the environment. The Mi Reader Pro is powered by a quad-core processor and has 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.

The Mi Reader Pro is powered by a 3,200 mAh battery and supports 10W charging. Connectivity options include dual band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0. It also has an EPDC controller for smooth page turning and lower power consumption. The e-book reader measures 192.1 x 138.6 x 7 mm and weighs only 251 grams.

It has support for voice search, Baidu Cloud, WeChat Reading, and various file formats including .txt, .epub, .pdf, .xlsx, .ppt, and .doc. You can also transfer books to Mi Reader Pro via WiFi or a USB connection.
