The creators of Thalaivi paid tribute to MG Ramachandran (MGR) on the day of his death by releasing new stills of Arvind Swami from the Jayalalithaa biopic. Swami plays the role of the late-film icon and the prime minister of Tamil Nadu in Thalaivi.

The actor took to Twitter to share his gaze and wrote, “It was not just an honor to play the role of Puratchi Thalaivar MGR, it was a great responsibility. I would like to thank the director AL Vijay & the producers @vishinduri @shaaileshrsingh for trusting me. I humbly post these images in Thalaivar’s memory today. #Thalaivi #MGR #ArvindSwamiasMGR. ”

Speaking of Thalaivi, producer Shaailesh R Singh said in a statement: “It was overwhelming to see the warm reaction to the previous looks of the film, be it Kangana Ranaut’s portrayal as Jayalalithaa or our first look at MGR by Arvind Swami. With each award, our responsibility to deliver better and meet audience expectations has increased. We took great care of the details. We hope the audience will continue to show their love for film. “

MGR was a mentor figure for Jayalalithaa. The actor who became a politician founded the political party AIADMK after he left the DMK in 1972 and came back to power in Tamil Nadu in 1977. Until his death on December 24, 1987, he was Prime Minister for ten consecutive years.

Under the direction of AL Vijay, Kangana Ranaut plays the role of Jayalalithaa in Thalaivi.

In addition to Arvind Swami and Kangana Ranaut, Thalaivi also plays Prakash Raj and Bhagyashree in outstanding roles.
