Recently, we took a closer look at the color options and design of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series through leaked high quality renderers. In a new report from WinFuture, the alleged specifications of the Galaxy S21 Ultra are now highlighted, which are allegedly part of the series along with the vanilla Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21 Plus. At the moment, Samsung has not officially confirmed the development of the series, and users should take the following information with a pinch of salt. The South Korean tech company is reportedly set to launch the Galaxy S21 smartphones on Jan. 14.
According to the report, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a dynamic 6.8-inch Infinity-O-Edge AMOLED display with a resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels (WQHD +), 515 ppi, a peak brightness of 1600 nits and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The phone was previously expected to be the only device with a curved display in the Galaxy S21 range. However, the recent leak suggests that it carries an “almost” flat panel display. Under the hood, the processor should vary depending on the location, which is typical for Samsung with its premium series Galaxy Note, Note S and Galaxy Fold. The US variant of the smartphone will reportedly include Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, while other regions like Germany will ship with the unconfirmed Samsung Exynos 2100 SoC. In particular, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer recently announced the launch of a new Exynos chip on January 12th. The Ultra model is to be delivered with the One UI 3.1 based on Android 11.
In terms of cameras, the phone is expected to have a quad rear camera that supposedly has a 108-megapixel primary sensor with a f / 1.8 wide-angle lens and autofocus capabilities, as well as a 12-megapixel sensor with a f / 2.2 ultra contains. Wide-angle lens and 120-degree field of view, a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and finally a secondary 10-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with OIS and 10x optical zoom. The rear-view camera system also includes a laser auto-focus system, which replaces the time-of-flight (ToF) sensor available on the Galaxy S20 Ultra, the report said. For selfies and video calls, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra should carry a 40-megapixel shooter that is located in the hole cutout.
Other rumored functions of the phone are dual SIM + eSIM (varies depending on the region), 5G, WLAN 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GNSS, NFC, IP68 protection and support for the S Pen pen (optional). The Galaxy S21 Ultra can contain a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging, fast wireless charging (Qi) and wireless PowerShare support (reverse wireless charging). The price is expected to start at 1,399 euros, which is around 1.26 lakh in India.
