Speaking to ANI, sources informed of developments said India’s limited MP is leaving for Australia via Dubai and will continue to work on his fitness during his quarantine period.
“He left early this morning and traveled to Australia via Dubai,” the source said.

While the initial thought was that Rohit would travel to Australia with the rest of the team and continue working on his Achilles tendon with the Indian physios, he made his way home to be with his ailing father. The opener went to Diwali to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to undergo rehab with the NCA’s physiotherapists.
The NCA physical therapists gave him clean shit on Friday and the BCCI sent out an official press release on Saturday saying that while he is “clinically fit” to travel to Australia, he will continue to work there during his quarantine period his perseverance will work.
“”Team India Batsman Rohit Sharma has completed his rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and is now clinically fit. He has been rehabilitating and training with NCA since Nov. 19 after sustaining a serious hamstring injury during the Indian Premier League (IPL).
“The NCA medical team were satisfied with Sharma’s physical fitness after evaluating him on various metrics that tested his ability to hit, stand and run between the gates. Sharma’s physical fitness was satisfactory, but he must continue working on his perseverance.
“He has been given a detailed program for the two weeks that he will be quarantined. He will be re-evaluated by the Team India medical team after his quarantine to determine his fitness status and a call to participate at the border. ” -Gavaskar Trophy will be awarded accordingly, “says the BCCI press release.
With the third test starting January 7th, Rohit should be ready to be part of the game at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
