Redmi 9 Power was launched in India as the newest budget smartphone from Xiaomi. The new model is equipped with four reversing cameras and a waterdrop style notch. The Redmi 9 Power also has the latest MIUI 12. Other key highlights of the latest Redmi phone are Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC, stereo speakers and up to 128 GB of onboard storage. Essentially, the Redmi 9 Power is a revamped Redmi Note 9 4G that was launched in China late last month – with minor differences in terms of camera, RAM, and storage. The company projects it against the Samsung Galaxy M11, Vivo Y20, and Oppo A53.
Redmi 9 electricity price in India, availability information
Redmi 9 Power price in India was set at Rs. 10,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, while the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage option of the phone carries a price of Rs. 11,999. The smartphone is available in four color options: Blazing Blue, Electric Green, Fiery Red and Mighty Black. It will be available online through Amazon as well as through Mi.com and offline through Mi Homes, Mi Studios and Mi Stores. The first sale is scheduled for December 22nd at 12 noon. The phone will soon also be available through offline dealers.
To give some perspective, the Redmi Note 9 4G was launched in China with a starting price of 999 CNY (around Rs 11,200) for the base model, 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage.

The dual SIM (Nano) Redmi 9 Power runs on Android 10 with MIUI 12 at the top and has a 6.53-inch full HD + display (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) dot drop display (companies speak for a waterdrop style notch) with 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, 400 nits of brightness, and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 octa-core SoC with an Adreno 610 GPU and 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM. For photos and videos, the Redmi 9 Power offers the quad rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary camera sensor as well as an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. This is different from the Redmi Note 9 4G with triple rear cameras without a macro shooter.
For selfies and video chats, the Redmi 9 Power has an 8 megapixel camera sensor on the front. The camera sensor also supports face unlocking with artificial intelligence (AI).
The Redmi 9 Power has up to 128 GB of integrated UFS 2.2 memory, which can be expanded via a microSD card (up to 512 GB) via a dedicated slot. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS / A-GPS, Infrared Blaster (IR), USB Type C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone also has stereo speakers that are Hi-Res Audio certified. There is also Widevine L1 certification to support HD web streaming through platforms like Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.
Xiaomi has provided a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for the Redmi 9 Power. The phone also includes an accelerometer, ambient light, a magnetometer, and a proximity sensor. There is a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 18 W fast charging (22.5 W charger included).
The Redmi 9 Power comes with support for wired reverse charging and has ELB technology (Enhanced Lifespan Battery). It also measures 162.3 x 77.3 x 9.6 mm and weighs 198 grams.
