New Delhi: Leading telco Vodafone Idea (V) and Bajaj Finance have signed an agreement to offer recharges under EMI, along with smartphones. An announcement to this effect was made on Monday. This allows smartphone buyers to pay the EMI amount along with the phone for a recharge plan of 6 months or a year.
If the customer opts for a Rs 1197 recharge plan with a smartphone for a period of six months, the two sums will be paid under EMI. Vodafone Idea also said in a statement that it would have to pay Rs 2,399 for the one-year plan. Vodafone said that in the current market, customers have to pay Rs 249 per month for a 1.5 GB daily data plan, which is enough to pay just Rs 200 per month under their six-month plan. They also have to pay Rs 299 for 2GB of daily data, which is enough to pay only Rs 200 per month under their annual plan.
Vodafone Idea Chief Marketing Officer Avanish Khosla said the team has teamed up with Bajaj to provide customers with their network services, including smartphones with zero down payment, easy EMI method. Kovid said it would be very useful in the face of the growing demand for smartphones. Bajaj Finance senior executive Manish Jain said the plan would benefit consumers.
