New Delhi: Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director (MD) of Reliance Industries (RIL), recently became a grandfather after a son to his eldest son Akash Ambani was born on December 10th. “With the grace and blessing of Lord Krishna, Shloka and Akash Ambani proudly became parents of a boy in Mumbai today,” a family statement said.
In addition, Ambani – Asia’s richest man – appeared in a picture on social media with his newborn grandson. The picture was tweeted by Parimal Nathwani, Director at RIL and Rajya Sabha MP, saying, “Congratulations to Shloka & Akash Ambani on the birth of their baby boy. I also congratulate Shri Mukeshbhai, Neetabhabhi and the entire Ambani family on the arrival of the new one Member … “.
“Nita and Mukesh Ambani are delighted to be grandparents for the first time when they welcomed the great grandson of Dhirubhai and Kokilaben Ambani. The newcomer brought immense joy to the Mehta and Ambani families, ”the official statement said.
The Ambani and Mehta families issued a statement revealing the name of Junior Ambani.
“With the grace of Lord Krishna and the blessing of Dhirubhai Ambani, Kokilaben Ambani is happy to announce the birth of our precious boy! Prithvi Akash Ambani. Happy parents Shloka and Akash. Several messages mentioned that the family revealed the reason for naming their grandson “Prithvi”. Since the Ambanis have an “Akash” in the family, they called the junior “Prithvi Akash Ambani”.
Ambani (63) and his wife Nita have three children – the twins Akash and Isha (29) and Anant (25).
Last year Akash married the diamond Russell Mehta and Mona Mehta’s daughter Shloka at the Jio World Center in the Bandra Kurla complex in Mumbai. The big wedding ceremony was attended by eminent personalities, including who’s who of Bollywood. Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also attended the mega event. The couple got engaged in June 2018 after Akash Shloka made a proposal in Goa in March this year.
It is worth mentioning here that the Ambanis and Mehtas know each other well and even Akash and Shloka studied together at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School.
