Northamptonshire have signed Mohammad Nabi for the T20 Blast’s 2021 season, the club confirmed on their website on Wednesday (December 16). The signing of the high-ranking T20 all-rounder is an important letter of intent for the district, which has been on an upswing since a period of financial downturn.
Subject to approval by the Afghanistan Cricket Board, Nabi will be available for the entire duration of the group stage of the explosion as well as for the quarter-finals after his time with London Spirit in The Hundred.
With 4,118 runs with a hit rate of over 140 and 267 wickets in T20 cricket, Nabi provides significant ballast for the Northamptonshire lineup.
“Nabi was our main target for this role, so rips [David Ripley] and the club did a great job to get him on. “said Captain Josh Cobb.” We saw our middle order as our priority, so Nabi with his strength and experience was the perfect choice. “Together with Tom [Taylor] last year we look pretty strong in this area now. They’re both three-dimensional players so they help us balance a bit and give us a lot of options that day. ”
Northamptonshire reached the quarter-finals last season of the T20 Blast, where they were eliminated by Gloucestershire.
