Indian wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul made his test debut in 2014 and has quickly become one of the most popular cricketers ever since. On Tuesday, he thanked his supporters after reaching five million followers on the microblogging website Twitter. “Your support made this trip something special. Through the ups and downs, always together,” tweeted Rahul, who is currently ahead of the Indian test series Down Under in Australia. “Thank you and thankful for all of your love. # 5Million followers,” he wrote.

Since his debut Down Under, Rahul has made 36 Tests, 35 ODIs and 45 T20 caps.

The right-handed batsman has become a productive run-getter for India, especially in the limited oversized formats.

Rahul has 1332 runs in ODIs with an average of 45.93 with four centuries and 1542 runs in T20Is with an average of 44.05 with two hundred.

Because of his consistent performance, Rahul has been named vice-captain for India’s limited overs stage on his ongoing Australian tour. Regular Vice Captain Rohit Sharma was absent due to fitness problems.

Rahul also took over the captaincy of Kings XI Punjab for the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Rahul also had a successful season in the IPL and became the top scorer, although his team did not make the knockout round.

Rahul is currently preparing for India’s four-test series against Australia.
