These MLCs were alleging that the BJP and JDS together have illegally put the Chairman in the chair. Following this uproar, the Legislative Council was adjourned sine die.
After the uproar, Congress MLC Prakash Rathod said, “When the House was not running, the BJP and JDS had illegally appointed the Chairman to the chair. Unfortunately, BJP is doing such unconstitutional work. The Congress asked the Chairman to step down. Since he was sitting illegally in a chair, we had to remove him from there.
‘Shame, what would the public think’
Karnataka BJP MLC Lahar Singh Siroiya termed it as a hooliganism. He said, ‘Some MLCs were acting like goons. He forcibly removed the Chairman of the Legislative Council and abused her. We have never seen such a shameful day in the history of the Council. I am ashamed of what the public must be thinking about us. ‘
