Kaagaz: Pankaj Tripathi plays a living man who was pronounced dead in official records in the Zee5 film Bollywood

Pankaj Tripathi will play a character inspired by Lal Bihari Mritak in a new film called Kaagaz, a man who struggled to prove he was alive after being pronounced dead in the Uttar Pradesh land revenue. Directed by Satish Kaushik, it will be released on Zee5 on January 7th.

Commenting on the flawed system of land resources, the satirical comedy will also play key roles in Monal Gajjar, Mita Vashisht, Amar Upadhyay and Satish Kaushik.

In a statement, Pankaj Kaagaz called a “brilliantly written” film. “It’s a bizarre black comedy and shows the humorous journey of a simple man into an identity crisis. My character will be very different from some of my recent ventures and I look forward to being part of such an inspiring story. This story needs to be heard and I am sure Zee5 will give it the reach it deserves, ”he said.

Director Satish Kaushik, who also plays a central role in Kaagaz, said, “I remember reading the news about the story of Lal Bihari Mritak for the first time. I was fascinated and inspired by his journey so I did a lot of research on the events that happened in his life. After all, it felt to me like this story deserved to be told to the world. “

Lal Bihari Mritak fought a long and tough battle for nearly two decades to prove himself alive after he was pronounced dead on the records of the Uttar Pradesh government’s finance department in 1976. He founded the Mritak Sangh when he realized that there were many other states in the EU that suffer a similar fate.

Kaagaz is presented by Salman Khan Films with Satish Kaushik Entertainment Production and produced by Salma Khan, Nishant Kaushik and Vikas Malu. In addition to an online release, the film will also be released in selected cinemas in Uttar Pradesh.
