Jose Mourinho admits admission to Manchester United as a manager

Jose Mourinho believes he has not been given enough time to be successful at Manchester United and believes he will stay at Tottenham for the long term.

The Portuguese replaced Mauricio Pochettino after his release from United last season and has made a flying start to the 2020/21 Premier League season.

Spurs are at the top of the table in terms of goal difference before facing title rivals Liverpool on Wednesday at Anfield. United are currently ninth, five points behind the London side with one game in hand.

Mourinho helped United record their highest league finish since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure, winning the Europa League and FA Cup during his time in Manchester. However, he believes he didn’t have enough time to complete his project at the club.

“At a certain time in my career, with a profile of the club I got, it didn’t take that long to be successful,” he said.

“We did it in Porto, Inter, Real [Madrid], Chelsea, both times we did it without that longevity and also my desire to try different things and my crazy desire to go to many countries and try to win them and have different experiences in many different countries perfect because it was about winning, then goodbye, and let’s try another thing.

“The first club where I felt I needed time and time wasn’t at Manchester United because I felt like I was in the middle of the process, but I learn very early on to respect decisions that I make at United met. “

“We did what we did, we did what we could and we move on. I am happy, they are happy and we have a great relationship which I am always very proud of when I leave the club Have a very good relationship with everyone and United is another example of that. “

Mourinho added: “Now at Tottenham I know the profile of my job and hopefully so far I am enjoying being at the club very, very much. I think the club is happy to work with me so I see myself for a long time stay, but if we can speed up the process as we speed up and do good things as we do, then of course we’re not going to waste time. “
