
Laxman’s elegant innings:
2007-08 Series it. Third Test in Perth. The outcome of this match tied the emotions of the Indian team and made the victory even more memorable. India, who had to withdraw from the tour at one stage due to the Monkey Gate dispute between Harbhajan Singh and Andrew Symonds during the Sydney Test, are the only team fighting for victory. With Rahul Dravid (93) and Sachin Tendulkar (71) batting, India scored 330. Australia were all out for 212. With VVS Laxman (79) then, Team India scored 294 to put the Aussies ahead by 413 runs. The Indian team was engrossed in festivities as the Aussies were all out for 340.

Dravid Double .. Arasina Agarkar:
2003-04 Series .. It was the second Test in Adelaide. It was India’s victory on Australian soil after a long hiatus. Ricky Ponting (242) scored a double century while Australia scored 556. Rahul Dravid (233) and VVS Laxman (148) put on 523 for India. However, in the second innings, Ajit Agarkar (6/41) smashed the Aussies to 196 runs. India chased down the target of 233 for 6 wickets. No one can forget the victory punch that Dravid threw into Gallo in a rage at that moment.

Chandrasekhar:
1977-78 Series .. Third Test at Melbourne Ground. India’s first Test victory on Australian soil. In both the innings, leg-spinner Bhagwat Chandrasekhar smashed 6/52, 6/52 to win the match. Mohinder Amarnath (72) and Gundappa Vishwanath (59) scored half-centuries as India scored 256 in the first innings while Australia were restricted to 213. Sunil Gavaskar (118) scored a century to put India on 387 for 343 in the second innings. The Aussies were all out for 164 and suffered a heavy defeat.

Kapil’s Outstanding Performance:
The 1985-86 series was the first Test in Adelaide. Kapil Dev, who gave Team India their first ODI World Cup, looked aura after taking 8 wickets in the first innings. Still the Indian bowler’s best performance on Australian soil (8/106). Earlier in the day, Australia’s Greg Richie (128) and David Boone (123) scored 381, while Gavaskar (166 not out) scored an unbeaten 520 for India. In the second innings, the Aussies got a chance to play 8 overs. The match ended in a draw.

Sachin’s century in 19 years:
1991-92 Series .. Fifth Test in Perth. Despite India’s heavy defeat in the match .. Sachin Tendulkar’s performance is amazing. After that Sachin laid the foundation needed to become an all time great. The 19-year-old Sachin scored 114 off 161 balls with 16 fours in the first innings. Boone (107) scored a century while Australia scored 346. India were restricted to 272. Dean Jones (150 not out) and Tom Moody (101) then declared the Aussies for 367 and challenged. However, India were all out for 141.
