HMSI begins using the Hazira-Ghogha inland waterway in Gujarat

NEW DELHI: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) announced on Tuesday that it will be the first automobile company in the country to begin shipping products on the newly inaugurated Hazira-Ghogha Ro-Pax ferry service in partnership with Indigo Seaways .
The company shipped its first two-wheeler shipment by ferry from the Narsapura plant in Karnataka to Veraval (near Somnath) in the Saurashtra area of ​​Gujarat, HMSI said in a statement.
This logistical method has significantly reduced the delivery time and distance for the company’s new two-wheelers, which will reach the Saurashtra region from the Karnataka plant.
Compared to the previous full road route, the transit time has been reduced by two days and the distance by 465 km, said the two-wheeler manufacturer.
