Fourteen days has dominated the game for the past few years but no one can stay at the top forever. At some point, some players will move on, although it’s unclear what that means for Epic’s free shooter. Apple has even scrutinized the company’s assets, claiming its attack on the App Store’s payment policies was actually a plan to increase interest in the game.
Epic itself is taking the problem seriously enough to launch a campaign that aims to use current players to get their friends back in the ring. The title “Restart a Friend” prompts current gamers to select someone from their list of friends who has not played to play games in at least thirty years. Similar to the Battle Pass system Fourteen days was made popular where players can access more rewards for completing in-game tasks. There are prizes for 1, 5, 10 and 20 games played together.
