- UAE’s top religious organization gives green signal to corona virus vaccine
- Debate in Islamic countries over whether the corona vaccine is halal or destructive
- Suspect of pork found in many vaccines, Islam is forbidden
The use of gelatin of pork (pork) in the corona virus vaccine has sparked debate in many Muslim countries around the world. Meanwhile, the UAE Fatwa Council, the top Islamic body of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has delivered a major verdict on the corona vaccine. This apex body of the UAE has termed it as legitimate for Muslims, despite the use of gelatin of pork.
Council said- hence the vaccine is different from Islamic restrictions
Pork gelatin is commonly used in vaccines, and this has led to a growing concern among Muslims about vaccination. The use of products made from pork is considered forbidden under Islamic law. Council President Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayya said that the corona virus vaccine could be kept separate from Islamic sanctions if there was no other alternative.
Saving human life is the first priority
He said that the first priority of all of us is to save human life. The council said that in this case pork-gelatin is to be used as a medicine and not as a food.
Debate on the Halal or Haram of the vaccine in Muslim countries
Indonesia and Malaysia, the world’s largest Muslim population, have sparked a debate on the corona virus vaccine. The Indonesian Ulema Council, a top body of Muslim clerics in Indonesia, has called for the issuance of a halal certificate for China’s synovic vaccine. After which many other clerics have raised objections.
Why the ruckus about the vaccine?
In Islam, things made with the use of alcohol or pork are considered haraam. Apart from this, the remaining things are called halal. According to the report, gelatin made from pork bone, fat or leather is used to protect a vaccine for a long time. Muslims suspect that vaccine-making companies have also used it in their products.
Malaysia is buying Chinese vaccine
Malaysia has purchased large quantities of China’s Synovac Corona vaccine. However, the Chinese company making it has not yet said whether pork has been used in it. After which there has been a ruckus.
