Sources said the education minister could use the webinar to announce the dates for the CBSE grades 10 and 12 exams in 2021. Previously, Pokhriyal had a similar discussion with students on December 10th to clear the air around CBSE board exams, curriculum and other exam-related issues.
During his last webinar, the Minister of Education had told students that the central government is placing equal emphasis on the education and safety of students during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Your training and your safety are equally important to us. First, your safety is important, and next is your education. The slight inconvenience the students had during the lockdown will eventually go away, ”he said.
During his interaction, the Minister of Education made it clear that the CBSE Class 10, 12 board exams may be delayed in 2021 and it is possible that the exams will not happen in March if the coronavirus pandemic is not brought under control. Pokhriyal hinted that it is possible that CBSE may opt for an alternative to practical exams in 2021, as most schools across the country remained closed for the entire academic session due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Meanwhile, the Union Minister of Education announced the JEE-Main exam schedule and the frequency of exams in 2021 on Wednesday evening.
Pokhriyal announced that the main JEE exams will be held four times a year – February, March, April and May. The first exam will take place from February 23 to 26.
“Students are free to take the exam at any time during these four rounds. They can choose the month of the exam of their choice. A student takes the exam four times, counting the top four,” Pokhriyal said.
Previously, Pokhriyal had said he was reviewing proposals to hold JEE Mains 2021 and the schedule would be announced accordingly.
