Bruno Fernandes has been criticized for injuring Richarlison’s head

Bruno Fernandes was compared to Harry Kane on Wednesday night after Manchester United beat Everton and it wasn’t good.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side continued their superb away form this season by beating Carlo Ancelotti’s side in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and booking a semi-final with local rivals Manchester City.

Fernandes was also criticized for his gimmicks as he pushed on Richarlison and sent the Brazilian forward to Eric Bailly, who jumped on the ball with the defender making contact with the Everton star’s head.

The former Watford forward lay on the ground for a moment before being lifted off in a daze from a head injury.

Fernandes received no penalty for his involvement in the incident and Bailly and the referee’s failure to punish United players ended up coming back to bite the toffees.

Cavani scored the all-important opening goal in the 88th minute and Anthony Martial scored late in stoppage time to end the win for Solskjaer.

The manager and his team are hoping for a better result in this season’s semi-finals after losing to City in the same phase last season, but they may have used up all their luck on Wednesday night.

Solskjaer also lost the FA Cup and Europa League semi-finals last season and is eager to win United’s first silver since 2017.
