Borussia Dortmund player ratings from the 2-1 win against Werder Bremen

Goals from Raphael Guerreiro and Marco Reus helped Borussia Dortmund beat Werder Bremen 2-1 in the first game of the era after Lucien Favre.

Borussia Dortmund wanted to end three games without a win in the Bundesliga and started perfectly against Werder Bremen. In the 12th minute he took the lead through Raphael Guerreiro. They looked dangerous every time they ventured forward and several times came close to increasing their lead.

But in the 28th minute Werder Bremen found the balance out of nowhere. Kevin Möhwald found the goal from the edge of the penalty area.

Borussia Dortmund still had chances but had to wait until the 78th minute to regain the lead. And the chance was a small gift after Bremen keeper Jiri Pavlenka fouled Manuel Akanji in the penalty area, which resulted in a penalty. Pavlenka increased Marco Reus’ penalty brilliantly, but the captain of Borussia Dortmund scored the rebound to make it 2-1.

That goal proved victorious as the Black and Yellows took a narrow victory. Head coach Edin Terzic will no doubt be pleased with the chances his team created over the course of the 90 minutes. Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from the 2-1 win against Werder Bremen.

Roman Bürki (6/10)

Bürki will have the feeling that he might have done a little better with Möhwald’s shot for Bremen’s goal. But he also saved great savings to prevent Augustinsson from finding the net at halftime. After that it was hardly tested.
