SADhbir Singh Badal, who launched a devastating attack on the BJP on Tuesday over farmers’ protests against the three central farm laws, called the Saffron Party “real tukde-tukde gang” and accused them of turning Hindus against Sikhs in Punjab.
Badal claimed that “the BJP first turned Hindus against Muslims” and said the party had “become the most powerful divisive force” to “repeat their evil game in Punjab”.
Badal asked his former ally to avoid the “arrogant attitude” towards farm laws and accept what the farmers want, and warned the BJP against any attempt to turn Hindus against Sikhs.
He said when speaking for the central government he is called “Desh Bhakt” and when he speaks against it he is branded as “Tukde Tukde Gang”.
“BJP is the real #TukdeTukdeGang in the country. It tore national unity to pieces, shamelessly incited Hindus against Muslims, and now desperately turned peace-loving Punjabi Hindus against their Sikh brothers, especially farmers. They are driving patriotic Punjab into communal flames, ”Badal claimed in a tweet.
SAD had left the National Democratic Alliance because of the issue of agricultural laws. SAD leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal had also resigned as Union Minister.
Later in a statement, Badal claimed that the BJP “divided the country into pieces by putting one community against another”.
“It is so desperate for power that it has no qualms about taking the path of communal polarization and setting the country on communal flames,” he said.
“The BJP turned Hindus against Muslims first. Now it’s decided to repeat the same evil game and recreate the same tragedy in Punjab, ”he claimed.
“It is a conspiracy to turn our peace-loving Hindu brothers in Punjab against their Sikh brothers with whom they have shared strong blood ties for centuries. The BJP wants to replace these blood ties with bloodshed, ”he continued.
He warned the BJP against any attempt to stir “brothers” against one another.
The SAD leader accused the Saffron Party of “resorting to dangerous conspiracies to sabotage the hard-earned atmosphere of peace and communal harmony only to achieve small political goals.”
“The BJP leadership must recognize that their party has become the most powerful divisive force today. It tried to divide the country and people by spreading hatred in the name of religion, ”he said.
The head of Shiromani Akali Dal urged the BJP-run center to avoid its “arrogant attitude”.
“Those who formulated (agricultural) laws have never been involved in agricultural activities. The central government is acting on the statements of its officials, ”he added.
Regarding the peasants’ continued agitation over the three farm laws, Badal said, “All of the country except the BJP gratefully acknowledges the debts we owe our patriotic peasants and soldiers.” “The BJP provokes people to reject this debt. She only believes in exploiting the farmers’ victims emotionally, but remains so ungrateful to them that they are portrayed as anti-national.
“Today it’s against farmers. Nobody knows what the BJP might say about soldiers tomorrow, if they like. The farmers are hurt and angry with the BJP, ”he said.
Badal said it was shocking and incredible that a party claiming to be proud of India’s heritage was determined to “destroy” the very foundations of that heritage.
Thousands of farmers from Punjab, Haryana and other countries have been protesting near various border points in Delhi, including Singhu and Tikri, for over a fortnight, calling for the center to repeal three new farming laws.
