Shiromani Akali Dal’s president, Sukhbir Singh Badal, said on Tuesday: “The BJP is the real ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang in the country today.” The former BJP ally said the Saffron Party is dividing the country by turning one community against another. It is so desperate for power that there are no qualms about treading the path of communal polarization and setting the country on fire. “
Sukhbir Badal spoke to media people in Bathinda and said, “The BJP turned Hindus against Muslims first. Now it’s decided to play that nasty game all over again and recreate the same tragedy in Punjab. It is a conspiracy to turn our peace-loving Hindu brothers in Punjab against their Sikh brothers with whom they have shared strong blood ties for centuries. The BJP wants to replace this blood tie with bloodshed. “
Badal said the BJP had “resorted to dangerous conspiracy theories to sabotage the hard-earned atmosphere of peace and communal harmony just to achieve petty political goals.”
Regarding the farm laws, he said, “These were made by those who never farmed and are now teaching farmers the benefits of these laws. People from AAP also got into the BJP. “
Badal said the whole country, with the exception of BJP, gratefully acknowledges the debt we owe to our patriotic peasants and soldiers. “The BJP provokes people to reject this debt. It remains so ungrateful to farmers that it calls them anti-national. Today it’s the farmers. Nobody knows that the BJP may even say the same thing about soldiers tomorrow, if they like. “
Sukhbir Badal later said in a statement from SAD headquarters in Chandigarh, “SAD sees it as its national duty to warn compatriots about the desperate and destructive game plan of BJP in Punjab. This party is so desperate for power that it has no qualms about making Punjabis thirst for each other’s blood and destroying the fabric of unity and brotherly love that the great Guru Sahiban and great saints and seers like Kabir Sahib have left us . Baba Farid ji, Jaidev ji, Namdev ji and others. “
