Calling Dhyan Chand the ‘greatest icon of Indian sport’, Ronnie said, “Given the size and scale of Dhyan Chand’s life achievements, I think there can be no one better than Abhishek to direct the film, and it is absolute pleasure to work with him again after Sonchiriya. Dhyan Chand is the greatest icon of Indian sport, which unfortunately today’s youth don’t know much about. There couldn’t have been a better underdog story than Dhyan Chand’s, and I can’t wait to introduce this movie to the audience. “
