The government has extended the last date for submission of life certificates till 28 February. Union Minister Jitendra Singh has announced this on Sunday. The Minister of State for Personnel said, “This decision has been taken after considering all the sensitive aspects including avoiding congestion in the pension sharing banks and the danger of pandemic.”

One crore pensioners will get direct benefit

This decision of the organization will directly benefit over 35 lakh pensioners associated with EPFO ​​and more than 65 lakh pensioners associated with the center. Who did not submit their life certificate till November due to corona virus epidemic. The Labor Ministry said that pensioners who have not been able to submit their life certificate till November 30, they will get pension every month till February and they can submit their life certificate by February 28.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that a special window has been arranged for pensioners above 80 years of age to submit life proof from October 1 to avoid congestion. Singh said that it is mandatory to submit a life certificate every year to continue the pension. He said that the Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare has recently taken an innovative decision to involve the Indian Post Payments Bank to submit digital life certificates.

There are many options to submit a life certificate

There are several options to submit a life certificate for the convenience of the pensioner. Pensioners can submit life certificates to 3.65 lakh Common Service Centers (CSC), pension dispensing banks branches across the country. Apart from this, 1.36 lakh post offices, 1.90 lakh postmen of postal network and Gramin Dak Sevaks can also be availed.
