The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sacked General Manager (GM) KVP Rao. After being dismissed, Rao thanked the board for giving him a chance. He said, is the best day of my life. Now I have immense possibilities and I will be able to use my professional skills elsewhere. Rao, in a letter to the state association, said that he was dismissed by the BCCI on 22 December itself.

2000 matches played in the 2018-19 domestic season

Rao wrote in the letter, ‘I am writing this mail to you because the BCCI dismissed me on 22 December. I thank all the State Associations, as they have supported me during my tenure and helped in the domestic season. Over 2000 matches were played in the domestic season in 2018-19. This was impossible without the help of the State Association. ‘

Completed every roll

Rao said that he completed whatever work he got from his heart. He said, ‘I am very honest about my work. I did the same despite being GM. I am proud of the work that BCCI gave me. This includes the Women’s World Cup played in India in 2013 and the ICC T20 World Cup in 2016. I was the tournament operations manager at the time. I have learned a lot in my 10 years, which will help me further.
