BCCI General Meeting: IPL with 10 teams from issue 2022 | Cricket News

AHMEDABAD: The BCCIThe governing body ratified the accession of two new franchise companies in the EU on Thursday IPL to make it a 10 team affair from 2022 during its annual general meeting here.
In another important development, the board decided in principle to support the ICC’s offer to include cricket in T20 format in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics “after the International Olympic Committee received some clarifications”.

“Two new teams will be introduced in IPL 2022,” a board source told PTI.
It was also decided that all top-notch players, both men and women, would be adequately compensated for the shortened season domestically due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The BCCI plans to kick off the domestic season with the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 championship in January after a few months delay.

In other decisions, the experienced Congress leader Rajiv Shukla was officially appointed Vice-President of the Board of Directors in place of his protégé Mahim Verma from Uttarakhand.
It was also learned that the general body opted for it Sourav Ganguly Continued as director on the ICC board.
Secretary Jay Shah will serve as the deputy director as well as India’s representative at the meetings of the chief executive committee of the global body.
