Cape Coral: Florida is full of alligators. The US state also has many golf springs. When you put the two together, you get a Florida golfer facing an alligator. This is dangerous. There is no doubt about that.

A video of a man approaching an alligator to retrieve a golf ball from the reptile’s tail has surfaced online. The video was shot on a golf course in Cape Coral.

Kyle Downes and his brother were at the Coral Oaks Golf Course in Cape Coral when their golf ball landed on the tail of the alligator basking in the sun near a lake on the course. Downes’ brother decided to get the ball back from the Gator by walking on tiptoe towards the reptile from behind.

The moment he picked up the ball was captured on camera by Downes. Watch the video here:

As soon as it grabs the ball, the alligator appears to jump into the water in surprise.

Downes posted the video on Facebook, where it went viral. Internet users were stunned to see Downes’ brother taking the risk for the ball.

One user said, “Oh my god, I can’t believe you did this.” Another wrote, “Lol, this is insane.” A third user commented: “The golfer has quite a tail to talk about.”

The alligator is known as Charlie on the golf course.

Last month, video of a giant alligator casually strolling at the Valencia Golf & Country Club in Naples, Florida during Tropical Storm Eta went viral on social media.

The video was filmed from a moving vehicle by Tyler Stolting, the club’s first assistant golfer. It showed that the alligator had legs that were longer than a dog’s and a huge, fleshy torso.
