Bharti Airtel added the highest number of users in October as well, and in this case it relied heavily on Reliance Jio. This is the third consecutive month when Airtel added more subscribers than Jio. According to data released on Wednesday by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Airtel added 37 lakh new subscribers in October, an increase of 1.12 per cent over the previous month. In October, Jio added 2.2 million users, an increase of 0.55% over the previous month. Vodafone Idea (Vi) lost 27 lakh subscribers during this period.
However, Jio is at number one in terms of number of users. The number of users of the company is 40.636 crore. Bharti Airtel is at number two with 33.029 crore subscribers while Vi is at third position with 29.284 crore subscribers. However, the proportion of interactive users of Jio is the highest at 21.41 percent. The number of interactive users of Airtel is 3.26 percent and the number of interactive customers of Vi is 11.22 percent.

In October, BSNL’s number of connections declined by 10,208, while MTNL’s 7,307 and Reliance Communications’ 1,488 mobile connections declined. According to the report, the total number of phone connections reached 117.18 crore in October. It was 116.86 crores in September 2020. At the end of October, Jio held 35.28 per cent of the wireless subscriber market, Airtel had 28.68 per cent and Vi had 28.42 per cent. In October, the number of broadband subscribers increased by 1.17 per cent on a monthly basis and reached 73.482 crore. In the broadband market, Jio’s share was 55.53 per cent, Airtel’s 23.17 per cent and Vi’s 16.40 per cent.
